Allensworth was founded in 1995 with a clear mission: to deliver unparalleled legal services specifically for the construction industry. Today, that mission is a reality. We’ve grown into a nationally recognized firm, known for our construction expertise and dedication to our clients. Our firm has expanded into a dynamic team of 40 skilled and dedicated legal professionals, all committed to maintaining the highest standards of excellence and client service. 

We provide comprehensive legal solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of our construction industry clients. In the early years of the firm, we focused primarily on representing design professionals in construction negotiations and disputes. Today, we represent industry members from all disciplines – public and private owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers. This gives us a 360° view that allows us to foresee and navigate the unique challenges our clients face, and helps us provide innovative and effective solutions. 

We’ve also expanded our scope of services to better serve our construction industry clients. In addition to construction contracting and dispute resolution, our scope of services now also includes: insurance coverage counsel services, professional licensure and defense, water law, outside general counsel services, and alternative dispute resolution services (arbitration and mediation).

Now in its 22nd year of publication, Construction Executive is the leading trade magazine about the business of construction. In its June 2024 issue, CE published a comprehensive ranking of The Top 50 Construction Law Firms™ featuring breakouts and analysis accompanied by an article in which leading legal experts discuss their construction clients’ most pressing business concerns. To determine the ranking, CE asked hundreds of US law firms with a construction practice to complete a survey. Data collected included: 1) 2023 revenues from the firm’s construction practice; 2) number of attorneys in the firm’s construction practice; 3) percentage of firm’s total revenues derived from its construction practice; 4) number of states in which the firm is licensed to practice; 5) year in which the construction practice was established; and 6) the number of AEC clients served during fiscal year 2023. The ranking was determined by an algorithm that weighted these factors in descending order of importance.
