Allensworth Leads Austin in 2021 Best Lawyers Construction Law Rankings

Allensworth and our partners have been recognized again by Best Lawyers. In addition, we are proud to announce that Joe Basham and Travis Brown have been named 2021 “Lawyers of the Year” in Austin by Best Lawyers for the categories of Litigation – Construction and Construction Law, respectively.

This is the third consecutive year that an Allensworth partner has been selected as Austin’s “Lawyer of the Year” in construction law. In 2019, Joe Basham held the title, followed by Matt Ryan in 2020. This year, the award went to Travis Brown after receiving the highest peer-reviewed ratings in the Austin construction law category. Travis has spent his career practicing construction law and helping owners, contractors, and design professionals manage complex construction projects from preconstruction to closeout. Travis isn’t one to flaunt his accolades, he’d rather let his work product and client relationships speak for themselves, but this is a well-deserved honor worth celebrating.

Joe Basham took home his second “Lawyer of the Year” award, this year in the Austin construction litigation category. While Joe is known by many in the industry for his contract-writing skills, he is also invaluable to his clients facing disputes. Just as he gets parties to “yes” in contract negotiations, Joe uses his 360° industry knowledge to help parties resolve disputes through mediation, arbitration, and, as the award title suggests, litigation. From breach-of-contract claims to payment disputes to design-defect claims, Joe’s goal-oriented, no-nonsense approach to dispute resolution is respected by clients and colleagues alike.
