Allensworth is proud to announce that Karly Houchin has become a partner, effective January 1, 2024.
Karly has been an indispensable part of our team since 2017, consistently showcasing outstanding legal acumen, dedication, and a passion for industry involvement. Her promotion to join our partnership underscores her exceptional leadership within the firm and the broader legal community.
Throughout her tenure with Allensworth, Karly has not only demonstrated a keen understanding of construction law, but has also developed critical niche practice areas in water territory disputes and insurance coverage disputes, both of which enhance the firm’s portfolio of legal services. Her nuanced understanding of these complex issues set her apart in the legal community, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Karly is actively engaged in community and industry leadership roles. She is committed to contributing to the advancement of our profession and the industry through her service as a current member of the Young Construction Lawyers Committee for the State Bar of Texas Construction Law Section, and previously as the Young Leaders Committee Chair for ULI Austin. She was also recently appointed as a member of the Young Lawyer Subcommittee for the State Bar of Texas Insurance Law Section.
Beyond all this, Karly has emerged as a thought leader. She consistently engages in publishing illuminating papers and delivering effective presentations, demonstrating her commitment to sharing expertise and shaping the industry dialogue.
As a partner, Karly will continue to champion excellence in legal services, foster industry collaboration, and lead initiatives that advance the firm’s standing in the legal landscape–and most importantly, our ability to serve our clients. Her promotion reflects our confidence in her abilities and recognizes the pivotal role she has played in our growth and success.
“Karly has worked incredibly hard since joining us straight out of law school, helping our clients in so many ways these last several years—and she’s left no question about whether she’s ready to join the firm’s leadership group. We’re grateful for her tireless dedication and excited for her to be a part of our continued success.” Amy Emerson, Co-Managing Partner
