At Allensworth & Porter, we decided long ago that we wanted to be the construction law firm for construction and design experts and owners in Austin and throughout Texas.

We were doing construction law well before it was a big thing. Austin wasn’t always the boom town it would later grow to become. While other firms diversified their target industries, we went all-in on construction, because we’ve known all along that this complex industry deserves counsel of the highest caliber who are fine-tuned to the intricacies of the industry and the law that governs it. But more than that, we’ve built a team with drive and personality, because we want to enjoy the people we work with every day while serving our clients. We’ve learned along the way that our clients like working with real people and devoted professionals, too.

Throughout the years, we’ve remained committed to the principle that if you stay focused on what you know and invest in smart, dedicated, and good-natured people, you’ll have happy clients and a happy firm. This recipe has served us and our clients well, and we believe it’s the reason why, when industry participants think of construction law, they think of Allensworth & Porter.

Being recognized as the only Austin-based construction law firm to rank in Construction Executive’s 2020 national listing of The Top 50 Construction Law Firms is a serious honor. Being one of the small handful of firms on the list that focuses exclusively on construction law is by design. We are grateful for the recognition, but ultimately, what we truly care about is that we rank #1 in the eyes of our clients—a goal that we never take for granted.

Construction Executive’s methodology for its Top 50 Construction Law Firms rankings included asking hundreds of U.S. construction law firms to complete a survey. The data collected included: 1) 2019 revenues from the firm’s construction practice; 2) number of attorneys in the firm’s construction practice; 3) percentage of firm’s total revenues derived from its construction practice; 4) number of states in which the firm is licensed to practice; 5) year in which the construction practice was established; and 6) The number of AEC clients served during fiscal year 2019. The ranking was determined by an algorithm that weighted the aforementioned factors in descending order of importance.
