Matt Ryan presented at this year’s AIA Austin Small Firms Roundtable held at the Austin Center for Architecture.
At this session, participants emerged with a better understanding of key contractual clauses that can be pivotal in limiting or otherwise managing risk involved in their projects (e.g. Cost Estimating). They also learned about the latest trends in TBAE enforcement activities, including lessons learned from recent Board cases.
Attendees obtained knowledge about working with difficult clients and managing potential and actual disputes. They also developed a better understanding of common and newly-developing theories of liability asserted against architects, together with available defenses and practice tips to limit risk.
